Life Stages
Every birth, marriage and death in Ireland over the past 160 years has been recorded by the General Register Office.
You are obliged by law to register any birth or death in your family as well as all marriages and you will be given a certificate stating the names, gender, dates and other details.
In the case of a birth or death, hospital staff will generally explain the registration process to you and tell you where to find the local Civil Registration Office.

- The Cork South Office is in Adelaide Court, Adelaide Street, in Cork city
- The Cork North Office is in the County Council Offices, Annabella, Mallow
- The Cork West Office is in the Courthouse in Skibbereen
